Rooted in Respect.
Driven by Compassion.
We are an indigenous-owned, Two-Spirited led organization fundamentally changing how essential transfer services operate in Saskatchewan.
Who We Are
Âtayôhkêwin (Pronounced Ah-Ta-Yo-Kay-Win) Transfer Services (ATS) was born out of necessity and profound observation. As a group of young, Two-Spirited, Indigenous individuals, we spent years working across various sectors of the healthcare and funeral industries.
During our time in these high-stress environments, we witnessed a troubling reality: a pervasive lack of empathy within the systems that handle the transition of life. The clinical detachment often overshadowed the profound sacredness and emotional weight of the work.
The meaning of Âtayôhkêwin
In Cree, Âtayôhkêwin refers to a sacred story, legend, or the telling of a sacred myth. We chose this name because every life is a sacred story, and we are honored to be entrusted with safely guiding individuals through the final chapter of their physical journey.
Our Vision for the Future
As a startup business, we have a profound vision that will evolve as we grow and build trusting relationships within the community.
